CoE Smart Agriculture Visits Partner Joe Cipir Cattle Farm in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung
The Center of Excellence for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University (UTI) once again conducted a partner visit to Joe Cipir Cattle Farm, located in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung. This activity aimed to strengthen collaboration while identifying opportunities to support the development of appropriate technology for livestock-based waste management. During the visit, the CoE Smart Agriculture team observed the process of managing cattle waste, particularly its conversion into organic fertilizer. In response to the needs identified at the partner farm, the team proposed the development of a fertilizer sieving device designed to improve the quality and efficiency of compost production derived from cow manure. This tool is expected to help separate fine and coarse materials, resulting in more uniform and higher-quality organic fertilizer. The team also engaged in discussions with the farm owner regarding the design, functionality, and implementation of the proposed device. This collaboration reflects a practical application of smart agriculture principles, where technology is utilized to solve real challenges faced by local farmers. By introducing an efficient sieving system, the initiative aims to enhance productivity, reduce manual labor, and increase the economic value of the produced fertilizer. The visit was warmly welcomed by the partner, fostering an interactive exchange of ideas and experiences. This activity not only strengthened the partnership between the institution and the local farm but also marked an important step toward developing innovative and sustainable agricultural solutions. It is hoped that this collaboration will continue to grow and contribute to advancing environmentally friendly livestock farming practices in the future.
