CoE Smart Agriculture Visits Partner Joe Cipir Cattle Farm in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung

The Center of Excellence for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University (UTI) once again conducted a partner visit to Joe Cipir Cattle Farm, located in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung. This activity aimed to strengthen collaboration while identifying opportunities to support the development of appropriate technology for livestock-based waste management. During the visit, the CoE Smart Agriculture team observed the process of managing cattle waste, particularly its conversion into organic fertilizer. In response to the needs identified at the partner farm, the team proposed the development of a fertilizer sieving device designed to improve the quality and efficiency of compost production derived from cow manure. This tool is expected to help separate fine and coarse materials, resulting in more uniform and higher-quality organic fertilizer. The team also engaged in discussions with the farm owner regarding the design, functionality, and implementation of the proposed device. This collaboration reflects a practical application of smart agriculture principles, where technology is utilized to solve real challenges faced by local farmers. By introducing an efficient sieving system, the initiative aims to enhance productivity, reduce manual labor, and increase the economic value of the produced fertilizer. The visit was warmly welcomed by the partner, fostering an interactive exchange of ideas and experiences. This activity not only strengthened the partnership between the institution and the local farm but also marked an important step toward developing innovative and sustainable agricultural solutions. It is hoped that this collaboration will continue to grow and contribute to advancing environmentally friendly livestock farming practices in the future.

CoE Smart Agriculture Visits BSF Maggot Hut STBM Partner in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung

The Center of Excellence for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University (UTI) once again carried out a field visit activity to its partner, the BSF Maggot Hut STBM, located in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung. This visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and observe directly the implementation of sustainable waste management practices through the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots. Students of the S1 Computer Engineering Study Program at Teknokrat University of Indonesia (UTI) won a gold medal at the International Competition for Digitalized International Invention, Innovation, and Design (6th DIIID) at Mara Cawangan Johor Technology University, Malaysia, in 2024. The gold medal was awarded to UTI students in the category “Science & Technology: Tertiary” for their technology, “Implementation of Smart Irrigation Based on AI and IoT to Increase Water Use Efficiency in South Lampung Farmer Group Chili Plantations.” The journey to this achievement is full of challenges and dedication. The team consists of Dian Tri Saputra, Rezi Dwi Agustian, Chafidz Asyad (S1 Computer Engineering), and Abiyyu Ikbar Fikri K. (S1 Sastra Inggris). Under the guidance of lecturers Styawati S.T., M.Cs., and Ridwan Mahenra, S.Kom., MCS. (AI), the team worked hard for months to develop intelligent irrigation systems based on AI and IoT. The system is designed to improve the efficiency of water use on the land of the peasantry group in southern Lampung. From research and development to field testing, everything is done carefully and enthusiastically to create innovative and applicable solutions. The competition was followed by various renowned universities from home and abroad. Among them are the Malaysian Technical University of Malaka, Urmia University/Faculty of Chemistry, MARA University of Technology, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Polytechnic, Padang State University, Lampung University, and Jambi University. Through the hard work and innovation demonstrated, the team of the Indonesian Technokratic University has achieved the highest awards. This success shows that Indonesia’s Technocratic University is able to compete in the international arena with innovations that have an impact on society. “Thank you to the Indonesian Technocratic University, which has always supported and facilitated students to be able to create innovative developments that are beneficial and have an impact on society.”

STUDENT ROBOT INNOVATION: SMART FOOD DELIVERY ROBOT
