The Center of Excellence (CoE) Smart Agriculture of Teknokrat Indonesia University carried out Community Service at SMAN 1 Sekampung Udik to strengthen students’ technological literacy.

The Center of Excellence (CoE) for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University once again held a Community Service activity at SMAN 1 Sekampung Udik on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. During this activity, the CoE team introduced an Internet of Things (IoT)-based drip irrigation system as a modern agricultural solution capable of optimizing plant watering automatically, efficiently, and data-driven. Through interactive presentations and live demonstrations, students were introduced to the concept of agricultural digitalization using sensors, monitoring systems, and IoT technology integration. The activity was enthusiastically received by the students of SMAN 1 Sekampung Udik, who actively participated in each session. In addition to understanding the basic concepts, they also engaged in practical system design and implementation simulations in agriculture. This experience provided new insights into the use of technology to support efficient and sustainable agriculture. The Center of Excellence (CoE) for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University (Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia) once again held a Community Service activity at SMK Telkom Lampung on Monday, January 26, 2026. During this activity, the CoE team introduced an Internet of Things (IoT)-based drip irrigation system as a modern agricultural solution capable of optimizing plant watering automatically, efficiently, and data-driven. Through interactive presentations and live demonstrations, students were introduced to the concept of agricultural digitalization, which integrates sensors, monitoring systems, and real-time data processing. This activity received a very positive response from SMK Telkom Lampung students, who enthusiastically participated in each event. They not only understood the theory but also participated directly in practical sessions, from system design and IoT device integration to implementation simulations in agriculture. CoE Smart Agriculture Visits Partner Joe Cipir Cattle Farm in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung

The Center of Excellence for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University (UTI) once again conducted a partner visit to Joe Cipir Cattle Farm, located in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung. This activity aimed to strengthen collaboration while identifying opportunities to support the development of appropriate technology for livestock-based waste management. During the visit, the CoE Smart Agriculture team observed the process of managing cattle waste, particularly its conversion into organic fertilizer. In response to the needs identified at the partner farm, the team proposed the development of a fertilizer sieving device designed to improve the quality and efficiency of compost production derived from cow manure. This tool is expected to help separate fine and coarse materials, resulting in more uniform and higher-quality organic fertilizer. The team also engaged in discussions with the farm owner regarding the design, functionality, and implementation of the proposed device. This collaboration reflects a practical application of smart agriculture principles, where technology is utilized to solve real challenges faced by local farmers. By introducing an efficient sieving system, the initiative aims to enhance productivity, reduce manual labor, and increase the economic value of the produced fertilizer. The visit was warmly welcomed by the partner, fostering an interactive exchange of ideas and experiences. This activity not only strengthened the partnership between the institution and the local farm but also marked an important step toward developing innovative and sustainable agricultural solutions. It is hoped that this collaboration will continue to grow and contribute to advancing environmentally friendly livestock farming practices in the future.

CoE Smart Agriculture Visits BSF Maggot Hut STBM Partner in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung

The Center of Excellence for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University (UTI) once again carried out a field visit activity to its partner, the BSF Maggot Hut STBM, located in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung. This visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and observe directly the implementation of sustainable waste management practices through the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots. During the visit, the CoE Smart Agriculture team explored the maggot cultivation process, starting from organic waste collection, larval growth management, to the harvesting stage. The BSF maggot system serves as an innovative and eco-friendly solution for converting organic waste into valuable products such as animal feed and organic fertilizer. Through discussions and hands-on observation, participants gained deeper insights into how this method contributes to environmental sustainability and supports local economic development. The activity was warmly welcomed by the partner, with interactive discussions taking place between the team and local practitioners. This visit not only strengthened institutional partnerships but also provided practical knowledge and real-world experience in sustainable agriculture and waste management. It is expected that this collaboration will continue to grow and inspire the development of innovative, environmentally friendly agricultural practices in the future.

CoE Smart Agriculture held a Community Service activity at Gajah Mada Vocational High School, Bandar Lampung, on January 15, 2026, as a commitment to supporting technology-based educational transformation. The activity began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and an Agreement (IA) as a strategic step in building sustainable collaboration between educational institutions and agricultural technology innovation centers. Through a workshop themed “Digitalizing Agriculture through IoT-Based Drip Irrigation Systems,” students gained a comprehensive understanding of the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve the efficiency and intelligence of modern agricultural systems. Students and Lecturers at Indonesia Teknokrat University Develop IoT-Based Smart Roaster Innovation to Support Kopi Supri

The Community Partnership Program (PKM) of the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) is presenting innovative Internet of Things (IoT) technology to help the Kopi Supri Jempol UMKM optimize its production process, particularly during the coffee roasting stage. Through the implementation of an IoT system, the roasting process can now:✅️Precisely regulate roaster temperature✅️Automatically control smoke density✅️Maintain consistent coffee bean roasting levels✅️Improve production efficiency and quality Partner: Kopi Supri Jempol MSMEAddress: Jl. Mata Air No. 18, Pinang Jaya, Kemiling, Bandar Lampung City. This UMKM has a roasting capacity of up to 90 kg per process, but previously, the process was done manually, resulting in uneven roasting results. PKM Implementation Team: Students involved:Akhmad Febriyo Febriyansyah, Medy Dwi Kurniawan, Jefri Andri Rifai, Rizky Dafa Khoiri, Rizki Devi Anggita, and Ferman Ferdaus. Activity: Tuesday, August 12, 2025Attended by MSME owner, Mr. Supriyadi, and five employees of Kopi Supri Jempol. Activity stages:Education and Training – Introduction to IoT technology and its use in automatic roasting machines. IoT Technology Handover – Automatic roasting system integrated with a responsive website that can be accessed anytime. Provision of Sales Management Application – Equipped with admin and user login features, stock management, stock history recording, and print-ready transaction reports. The pre-test and post-test evaluation results showed a 100% increase in participants’ understanding after the training. The owners and employees of the Kopi Supri Jempol UMKM expressed their appreciation to the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM), Teknokrat Indonesia University, ITERA, and the entire PKM team for the Smart Roaster technology innovation and supporting applications provided. They hope this program can continue to support the future progress of coffee UMKM. Students of the S1 Study Program Computer Engineering won gold medals at the international competition DIIID 6th, 2024, University of Technology Mara, Johor Malaysia Branch

Students of the S1 Computer Engineering Study Program at Teknokrat University of Indonesia (UTI) won a gold medal at the International Competition for Digitalized International Invention, Innovation, and Design (6th DIIID) at Mara Cawangan Johor Technology University, Malaysia, in 2024. The gold medal was awarded to UTI students in the category “Science & Technology: Tertiary” for their technology, “Implementation of Smart Irrigation Based on AI and IoT to Increase Water Use Efficiency in South Lampung Farmer Group Chili Plantations.” The journey to this achievement is full of challenges and dedication. The team consists of Dian Tri Saputra, Rezi Dwi Agustian, Chafidz Asyad (S1 Computer Engineering), and Abiyyu Ikbar Fikri K. (S1 Sastra Inggris). Under the guidance of lecturers Styawati S.T., M.Cs., and Ridwan Mahenra, S.Kom., MCS. (AI), the team worked hard for months to develop intelligent irrigation systems based on AI and IoT. The system is designed to improve the efficiency of water use on the land of the peasantry group in southern Lampung. From research and development to field testing, everything is done carefully and enthusiastically to create innovative and applicable solutions. The competition was followed by various renowned universities from home and abroad. Among them are the Malaysian Technical University of Malaka, Urmia University/Faculty of Chemistry, MARA University of Technology, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Polytechnic, Padang State University, Lampung University, and Jambi University. Through the hard work and innovation demonstrated, the team of the Indonesian Technokratic University has achieved the highest awards.
