Tekokrat Students create IoT-based Rice Seeding Tool to help Lampung Province

The Indonesian Teknokrat University (UTI) is developing technology to help farmers in Lampung. Most recently, a UTI-student named Ahmad Efendi Saputra succeeded in creating the Internet of Things (IoT) to speed up rice sowing. Ahmad even immediately carried out a trial involving the Tunas Harapan Farmers Group, Gunungterang Village, Bandarlampung, recently. Apart from helping farmers, Ahmad developed IoT to complete his thesis. The Computer Engineering students were supervised directly by Dr. Si Dedi Darwis, M.Kom. Meanwhile the examiner was S. Samsugi Meng. According to Dedi, the technology being developed can help farmer groups speed up the sowing period for rice seeds. „Hopefully the Computer Engineering Study Program can continue to increase its contribution to society.“ „Thank you, Teknokrat Education Foundation, chancellor, dean of FTIK, for the support that has been given,“ said Dedi in his written statement, quoted Thursday (10/8/2023). Meanwhile, UTI Vice Chancellor Dr. H. Mahathir Muhammad, S.E., M.M., welcomes the thesis, which is considered useful in helping farmers. He also hopes, dass all UTI-Students theses will come from real needs in the field. Because according to him, this shows that all Teknorat students are able to write and develop theses that suit the needs of society. „So students’ knowledge while on campus has a broad impact.“ „We want the approach to future student scientific work to be better and more grounded, so that the benefits are felt by the wider community“, said Dr. Mahathir.

Digital Smart Collar Helps Monitor Cow Growth and Health

Hello Champion Friends… Best Indonesian Teknokrat University PTS ASEAN continues to be committed to creating and developing technological innovations that can help overcome problems in society. One of the innovations implemented by them is the Digital Smart Collar to monitor the growth and health of cows, as well as the Digital Marketing Application to increase the business scale for CV Sapi Sport, a group of cattle breeders in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung Regency. Diese Innovation ist funded through the 2023-vocational-matching-fund-scheme provided by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. The Innovation Team, which consists of lecturers and students, is led by Dr. Dedi Darwis, M.Kom., Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Indonesian Teknokrat University (FTIK-UTI), who is also the chief executive of the vocational matching fund. Team members come from various fields of science, such as S. Samsugi, M.Eng. (Internet of Things), Yuri Rahmanto, M.Kom. (Software Engineering), Almira Devita Putri, M.A.B. (Digital Marketing), and Novi Eka Wati, M.Si. (Animal Science). Implementation activities will be carried out at the CV Sapi Sportcage from 19-23 August 2023.

Implementation of Internet of Things-based Batik-Writing-Machine at MSMEs Dypas Batik South Lampung

Hallo Champion-Friends. The Community Service Team (PKM) of the Teknokrat University (UTI) has carried out activities to implement an Internet of Things (IoT) based batik machine for one of the MSME batik craftsmen, namely Dypas Batik. Diese Activity was carried out on Saturday, September 2, 2023, in Tanjung Bintang Sub-district, South Lampung Regency. Diese Activity was led by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Teknokrat University (FTIK-UTI), Dr. Si. Dedi Darwis, M.Kom., with a team of lecturers who specialize in the IoT field, namely Ade Surahman, M.Kom., as well as a digital marketing team, namely Almira Devita Putri, M.A.B., and two students from FTIK-UTI. Written and ecoprint batiks are known to have higher artistic value compared to printed batik or stamped batik because every line and stroke made by hand makes each written batik cloth unique, has a high level of complexity, and has its own characteristics. Dypas Batik MSMEs face problems in the process of making written Batik, which is still done manually without the help of machines, causing the production process to not be optimal. Therefore, the UTI PKM team is innovating to help Dypas Batik MSMEs increase their production and business scale. The IoT-based written-batik-machine works with the initial step of batik-Craftsmen, who can create batik-Patterns digitally using a tablet. Then, the pattern that has been created is sent to a written batik machine using IoT, and this machine will automatically print the batik pattern and color the batik cloth. With this innovation, Dypas Batik MSMEs can easily increase the scale of their written-batik-production, thereby increasing batik-production and sales-income. Diese PKM-Activity is a grant from the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikburistek) in 2023 through the Community Partnership Program Scheme.

Teknokrat University Student Winner, 2nd NationalNational Internet of Things (IoT) Competition

Teknokrat University Computer Engineering students once again brought national-level achievements. Team Kohid Internet of Things (IoT) Lili Andraini, Izudin Ismail, and Indra Kurniawan of the class of 2019 competed in the IoT event at Mercu Buana University in 2022. With strong motivation from the Kohid team and mentor Ade Surahman, M.Kom. Indonesian Technocrat University students won 2nd place in the following order:1st Place: Telkom University (Tel-U)2nd Place: Teknokrat University (UTI)3rd Place: Caltex Riau Polytechnic (PCR)Hope 1: Caltex Riau Polytechnic (PCR)Hope 2: Surabaya State Electronics Polytechnic (PENS)Hope 3: Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) The Kohid team made a hydroponic suitcase that can grow vegetables indoors and does not require sunlight. This is useful for food security in cities where there is limited land for agriculture and can also be applied in countries with four seasons where in winter it is not possible to garden or grow vegetables. So the Kohid team is making a contribution to Indonesia with the concept of indoor gardening. The Head of the Computer Engineering Study Program, Styawati, M.Cs., expressed extraordinary appreciation for the results obtained by the Computer Engineering students, as did the competition supervisor, Ade Surahman, M.Kom., who congratulated the students and the Head of the Study Program, who always provided extraordinary support for the competition.
