The Center of Excellence (CoE) for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University once again held a Community Service activity at SMAN 1 Sekampung Udik on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. During this activity, the CoE team introduced an Internet of Things (IoT)-based drip irrigation system as a modern agricultural solution capable of optimizing plant watering automatically, efficiently, and data-driven. Through interactive presentations and live demonstrations, students were introduced to the concept of agricultural digitalization using sensors, monitoring systems, and IoT technology integration. The activity was enthusiastically received by the students of SMAN 1 Sekampung Udik, who actively participated in each session. In addition to understanding the basic concepts, they also engaged in practical system design and implementation simulations in agriculture. During this activity, the CoE team introduced an Internet of Things (IoT)-based drip irrigation system as a modern agricultural solution capable of optimizing plant watering automatically, efficiently, and data-driven. Through interactive presentations and live demonstrations, students were introduced to the concept of agricultural digitalization, which integrates sensors, monitoring systems, and real-time data processing. This activity received a very positive response from SMK Telkom Lampung students, who enthusiastically participated in each event. CoE Smart Agriculture Visits Partner Joe Cipir Cattle Farm in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung

The Center of Excellence for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University (UTI) once again conducted a partner visit to Joe Cipir Cattle Farm, located in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung. This activity aimed to strengthen collaboration while identifying opportunities to support the development of appropriate technology for livestock-based waste management. During the visit, the CoE Smart Agriculture team observed the process of managing cattle waste, particularly its conversion into organic fertilizer. In response to the needs identified at the partner farm, the team proposed the development of a fertilizer sieving device designed to improve the quality and efficiency of compost production derived from cow manure. This tool is expected to help separate fine and coarse materials, resulting in more uniform and higher-quality organic fertilizer. The team also engaged in discussions with the farm owner regarding the design, functionality, and implementation of the proposed device. This collaboration reflects a practical application of smart agriculture principles, where technology is utilized to solve real challenges faced by local farmers. By introducing an efficient sieving system, the initiative aims to enhance productivity, reduce manual labor, and increase the economic value of the produced fertilizer. The visit was warmly welcomed by the partner, fostering an interactive exchange of ideas and experiences. CoE Smart Agriculture Visits BSF Maggot Hut STBM Partner in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung

The Center of Excellence for Smart Agriculture at Teknokrat Indonesia University (UTI) once again carried out a field visit activity to its partner, the BSF Maggot Hut STBM, located in Jati Indah Village, Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung. This visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and observe directly the implementation of sustainable waste management practices through the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots. During the visit, the CoE Smart Agriculture team explored the maggot cultivation process, starting from organic waste collection, larval growth management, to the harvesting stage. The BSF maggot system serves as an innovative and eco-friendly solution for converting organic waste into valuable products such as animal feed and organic fertilizer. Through discussions and hands-on observation, participants gained deeper insights into how this method contributes to environmental sustainability and supports local economic development. The activity was warmly welcomed by the partner, with interactive discussions taking place between the team and local practitioners. This visit not only strengthened institutional partnerships but also provided practical knowledge and real-world experience in sustainable agriculture and waste management. Students and Lecturers at Indonesia Teknokrat University Develop IoT-Based Smart Roaster Innovation to Support Kopi Supri

The Community Partnership Program (PKM) of the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) is presenting innovative Internet of Things (IoT) technology to help the Kopi Supri Jempol UMKM optimize its production process, particularly during the coffee roasting stage. Through the implementation of an IoT system, the roasting process can now:✅️Precisely regulate roaster temperature✅️Automatically control smoke density✅️Maintain consistent coffee bean roasting levels✅️Improve production efficiency and quality Partner: Kopi Supri Jempol MSMEAddress: Jl. Mata Air No. 18, Pinang Jaya, Kemiling, Bandar Lampung City. This UMKM has a roasting capacity of up to 90 kg per process, but previously, the process was done manually, resulting in uneven roasting results. Activity stages:Education and Training – Introduction to IoT technology and its use in automatic roasting machines. IoT Technology Handover – Automatic roasting system integrated with a responsive website that can be accessed anytime. Provision of Sales Management Application – Equipped with admin and user login features, stock management, stock history recording, and print-ready transaction reports. The pre-test and post-test evaluation results showed a 100% increase in participants’ understanding after the training. The owners and employees of the Kopi Supri Jempol UMKM expressed their appreciation to the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM), Teknokrat Indonesia University, ITERA, and the entire PKM team for the Smart Roaster technology innovation and supporting applications provided. They hope this program can continue to support the future progress of coffee UMKM. The Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia joins Polinela in the implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT).

Teknokrat University of Indonesia (UTI) together with Polytechnic State of Lampung (POLINELA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as well as Implementing Agreement (IA) between the UTI Computer Engineering S1 study programme and the POLINELA Seedling Technology S1 programme. The event takes place on Thursday-Friday, 11-12 July 2024 at the Golden Tulip Springhill Lampung Hotel. The collaboration focuses on the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technology to grow indoor premium hydroponic melons. The IoT technology applied in the project aims to improve the efficiency and efficiency of melon planting, as well as produce fruit with the best quality. The head of the study program at S1 Computer Engineering UTI, Styawati, S.T., M.Cs., explained that the application of IoT technology in these hydroponic farms enables monitoring and management of the growing environment of crops in real-time. “With sensors and IoT devices integrated, we can regulate environmental conditions optimally to ensure maximum melon growth,” he added. The head of the S1 POLINELA seed technology study programme, Dr. Anung Wahyudi, S.P., M.Sc., stated that this collaboration is an important step in the development of agricultural technology in Indonesia. “This collaboration opens new opportunities for us to develop more efficient and productive planting methods, using IoT technology developed by UTI,” he said. The signing of the MoU and IA demonstrates the commitment of both institutions in advancing education and research in the fields of technology and agriculture.
