By utilizing Metaverse technology, students can attend the thesis examination session virtually, without having to be physically present in the courtroom. This not only makes it easier for students, but also provides an exciting new experience in undergoing the academic process. Metaverse is a concept that describes a virtual world that transcends the boundaries of time and space. The term refers to an immersive digital environment, where users can interact and communicate with virtual worlds that are connected to the real world. The Metaverse offers a more immersive and interactive experience, allowing users to explore, interact and collaborate with others through their avatars. The concept encompasses various platforms and technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality systems, which provide near-real-life experiences.
Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia made history by conducting the first thesis examination session in the world through Metaverse. A student named Wayan Kresna Yogi Swara (S1 Informatika) became the first student to undergo this thesis examination session with his supervisor Dr. (can) Heni Sulistiani, M.Kom. and examiner Dr. Si. Dedi Darwis, M.Kom.. In the trial, Wayan was able to deliver a virtual thesis presentation, interact with the supervisor and examiner, and answer questions smoothly.
